The Archdeacon of Cambridge was the guest of honour when Stilton CofE Primary Academy held a special celebration event.

The Ven Dr Alex Hughes joined Stilton vicar Rev Richard Gibbs for the morning of celebration as the school embarked on a new phase of its life.

The school opened as an academy on 1 May 2018 as part of the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust with Tamara Allen as Executive Headteacher.

Parents and members of the community were invited to the special event on Thursday 29 November. The day started with a service of dedication and celebration led by the Archdeacon and the Vicar.

Staff and pupils sang and a framed copy of the school’s prayer was presented to each class.

The Executive Headteacher then gave a short address outlining the school’s journey and its plans and ambitions for the future.

Refreshments were provided before a photo opportunity with pupils to unveil the school’s new sign.

Tamara Allen said: “This was a day of celebration for the whole school community as we embrace the many exciting opportunities ahead. We are delighted to be part of the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust and look forward to working with them to secure the best possible outcomes for our children.”
