Inclusion At DEMAT

Our vision for our schools is to provide a truly inclusive education for all learners and for all stakeholders to share a strong moral purpose to ensure that this ethos is put into practice across our Trust.

All our staff provide what is needed for all pupils to overcome any barriers to learning, including special educational needs, and consequently succeed. Pupils are given the opportunity to thrive within a positive and nurturing environment.

A core principle of the Trust is to create a professional network through providing and facilitating training for those responsible for inclusion in our schools.

A comprehensive programme of continued professional development (CPD), forums and briefings ensure best practice is observed in supporting and designing provision for pupils from all vulnerable groups, including English as an additional language (EAL), pupil premium (PP) and Children who are Looked After (CLA).  In order to achieve this, we keep up to date with local and national developments, which we then share at suitable training events.

All our schools are supported by advice and guidance from the central Inclusion and Safeguarding team.

Working with the schools’ leadership teams, and a network of SENDCOs, Designated Teachers of Children who are Looked After, EAL and PP champions, ensures inclusive practice is developed to promote the highest standards of achievement for all vulnerable groups in our schools.
