A Christmas fair bonanza for two local schools

January 16, 2023

Two schools in Peterborough have enjoyed their biggest and best Christmas fairs this year.

Holme Church of England Primary Academy and Stilton Church of England Primary Academy which share an executive headteacher are delighted to have been able to invite their communities in for a host of festive fun, food and games.

Holme Church of England Primary Academy raised money for the school with its best turnout to date and Stilton Church of England Primary Academy was also delighted to have had a great attendance at the fun-filled event.

Both fairs had an array of games on offer, including pin the nose on Rudolph, splat the Christmas rat, find Santa’s lost presents and a Christmas marble run.

And fair goers were even able to get crafty at the events with stalls offering arty activities including biscuit decorating, bauble designing, snowflake making and reindeer food mixing.

Both fairs were supported by their respective PTA groups, who got together to host Christmas cafes and raffles as well as invite local small businesses to have their own little stalls in the school’s special  Christmas markets too.

Executive headteacher of the schools, Clara King, said:

“I am absolutely blown away by how fabulous our 2022 Christmas fairs were and so very thankful to each and every person who helped make them a success, from our amazing pupils who bring the magic and make us so proud, to the staff, PTAs and local companies who all give so much.

“And of course, to all of the families and friends who come along, spend some money and make sure the events are such a success. Well done to everyone across our amazing schools.”

Each school brought its own festive flavour to the fairs, with personal touches from staff and pupils making them individual, including handmade gifts and decorations by the students.

Clara King added:

“It means so much to our schools to raise money that will go directly to helping enhance the children’s experiences at schools.

“Both events were so well attended and helped created some family fun and festive magic that both children and parents alike could enjoy. Being together and enjoying a wonderful Christmassy experience was the main goal for both schools and we can safely say we smashed it.”
