Local primary school opens up its doors to new pupils and families

October 18, 2022

A local primary school is looking forward to throwing open its doors and inviting the community in to find out more.

Oakington CofE Primary, on Water Lane, will hold a duo of open evenings to in October and November, as well as an open morning, in the hope of highlighting the hard work of its staff and pupils.

The school hopes to welcome parents in the area who may be beginning to consider their child’s primary school options for 2023 as well as any other members of the community who might interested to learn more about what goes on in the school.

The open evenings will be a chance for prospective parents and pupils to tour the classrooms, check out the facilities and meet staff as well as school governors.

Visitors will also have the chance to hear from current pupils and their families about their experiences of being part of the school.

Headteacher Nathan Clarke said: “We’re thrilled to be holding two open evenings and hope as many prospective parents as possible will consider popping in to find out more about our wonderful school.

“We’re very proud of our school community and have so much to offer to children and their families who might be joining us in 2023.

“From our gardening club to stage and screen workshops, to the school’s music groups and our many trips and sporting events throughout the year. Add to that our knowledge rich curriculum and it’s clear that staff work so hard to give the children at Oakington the best possible education experience and we really want to highlight that.”

The open evenings will be held October 31 and November 1 at 5.30pm and 6pm, with an open morning being held on November 2 at 9.30am.

Visitors are asked to book in advance by emailing office@oakington.cambs.sch.uk or call 01223 232328
