Schoolchildren get surprise visit from Father Christmas
Local primary school children were over the moon to have received a surprise visit from the man in the big red suit last week

The pupils, from Anthony Curton C Of E Primary School Academy in Walpole St Peter, were greeted by Father Christmas who arrived at the school with a present for each child.
In addition to this, Father Christmas hosted a story reading session, which the whole school gathered to listen to in the main school hall.
The visit is arranged annually by the school in the run up to the Christmas holidays.
Executive headteacher Dawn Liddle said: “I am really pleased that we were able to organise our annual visit from Father Christmas once again this year, it is something that is enjoyed not only by pupils but our staff as well.
“The past couple of years have been extraordinary for young people and being able to organise this for them means a great deal to us.
“Christmas is such a magical time of year, and I am absolutely thrilled that we could get the whole school involved in the story reading session.
“I hope this goes a long way to spread some Christmas cheer for our pupils and their families this year.
“From all of those at Anthony Curton, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year.”
Eva, a Year 5 pupil, said: “It was really awesome that Father Christmas came to visit my school this year.
“I was so excited when I saw him and it was so much fun to have story reading as well, I can’t wait for him to come back next year too!”
