A 'caring school with a family feel' has been rated as good following its first Ofsted inspection since the pandemic.

Staff and pupils at Tilney All Saints celebrate their good Ofsted inspection report

Tilney All Saints Church of England Primary School, near King’s Lynn, was graded as good in all five areas of inspection.

The inspectors commented on the school’s wide curriculum in which ‘leaders have carefully considered what they want pupils to learn and by when’ with a particular focus on the school’s dedication to reading.

The report also highlighted the school’s ‘strong culture of safeguarding’ with effective measures and clear processes in place.

Executive Headteacher Dawn Liddle said: “The pandemic was a really tricky time for everyone so to have come back following that and be rated good by Ofsted is absolutely fantastic.

“I am really proud of the work that we’re doing here at Tilney All Saints, both in terms of staff and pupils, and this rating is a testament to that.”

The report also highlighted that pupils are aware of the school values which include peace, forgiveness and joy, and while the adults have high expectations, pupils live up to these with hard work and good behaviour.

Pupils also have a breadth of extra-curricular activities they can choose to take part in such as choir, multi-skills and yoga. In addition, each child is given the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.

The school, which is part of the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust (DEMAT), was praised for having leaders who have worked hard to develop the curriculum but also identified areas where it could be developed further.

Miss Liddle added: “We welcome all the comments from the inspectors, and we are already taking steps to implement their suggestions for improvements.

“We are committed to being the best we can possibly be and continuing to build on our high standards across the school.”
